What is The Quarrel?

Hello my dear friend,

I have been enjoying a series on NetFlix titled “Call the Midwife”. I usually turn it on and watch one episode while making dinner. The other night I heard this quote and It touched me so much I had to stop it, rewind it, write it down, and now share it with you.
Here is the quote…..

The Quarrel

“The quarrel is not between ourselves, it is within us.

The quarrel is between one’s own desire and that which is demanded.

The quarrel is between the body and it’s longings, the soul and it’s terrors, and the minds yearning to be free.

The quarrel defines us, it drives us forward, upwards and to our knees in prayer.

You must embrace the quarrel.

The quarrel will lead us to the answer, it is everything we are.”

When I am trying to make an important decision in my life, I now realize what is going on. It’s the quarrel. It is trying to decide which is best, what I want to do or what is required for me to do.
Is it the easy path, but not necessarily the best? Or will the hard scary growth path take me to where I am hoping to end up?
The thoughts that keep going around and around in my mind looking for the exit but really the answer.
The hours spent in prayer and meditation for the inspiration for guidance and direction, leading me to the answer.
The tears of disappointment or joy when that decision has finally been made.
That is the quarrel.

I now have a name and better understanding of what is going on inside me when I am faced with a big decision. And with new understanding, I will be kinder and gentler with myself, as I work through the quarrel so I can continue to become a better version of me.

I hope the quarrel becomes a place of better understanding for you!

As this year comes to a close, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support in the growth of Beeing Well. This has been the most amazing year! I hope that you will continue to be a part of us as we grow and are able to help more of you “feel better” and “restore joy”. We have some exciting additions coming next year. Stay tuned and we will keep you informed.

With much love and gratitude,
Janalee
