The Throat Chakra

Chakra Throat

I listen with discernment but can also speak my truth. The first of the spiritual/energy chakras, the Throat Chakra has much to do with having an authentic voice where faith and understanding combine. When this chakra is healthy and open, you can speak what is true for yourself in a peaceful and calm manner. You know how to express yourself easily and creatively. You listen to your inner voice and know how to balance silence and speech. This chakra, located halfway between the heart and the throat and centrally at the base of the neck, is a powerful force intended to help one express their inner truth.

“Wednesday can be associated with the Throat Chakra as midweek is a time when communication peaks, encouraging open dialogue, honesty, and self-expression. It is the perfect day to speak your truth and engage in meaningful conversations.”  (ByHealingthroughVisions.com)

“The function of this fifth chakra is to support us in thinking and vocally expressing our truth with confidence and ease…The throat chakra is a yang energy, flowing outward as we express ourselves with our voice… We live at a remarkable time that can be overwhelming if we don’t manage it well with boundaries. I am referring to the remarkable experience of living in the information age. Our throat chakra is being activated and for many, it feels like overload and…this activated energy shows up in our daily lives, i.e.; Influencers, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, etc… What are you doing to use your voice that matters? Or are you just adding noise to the energetic environment in which we live? The throat chakra is wide open and very active. Make sure you only allow what adds value to your life and to your world.” (Carol Tuttle, The Modern Chakra Guide, pp. 19, 187-188, 189, 197).

In the world of today, how we communicate with each other is of more importance than ever. Having an open throat chakra helps with the ability to discern between the time to speak and the time to listen, what words to use and how to say them confidently. Striving to implement the practices to ensure a healthy, open throat chakra takes time and patience but with persistence, our communication styles can become more authentic and peaceful.
