Power Up Your Prayers – Part 4
Hello my dear friend,
It is the second Monday of the month which is the book review email. Today, we will continue with days 17-23 of Power Up Your Prayers by Sheridan Ripley.
Day 17- God has GIVEN Us the Power of Love
The scripture 2 Timothy 1:7 states “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear is a powerful emotion, but love has more power.
I have heard the quote “love is the answer!” so why not let it be! Pray to have the power of love.
Day 18- Pray to Know Who You Should Get to Know
We get to be God’s messengers and His instruments in helping our fellow beings. Maybe there is someone you get the opportunity to serve that you have not met yet. Pray for opportunities to meet the people where you could be the answer to their prayers.
Matthew 25:35
I was a stranger and ye took me in.
Day 19- Pray for Those Who Are Mourning
I don’t have to look very far to find someone who is struggling and in need of prayers. Just this morning, I spoke with someone who just recently lost her husband and she lost her dad and daughter in the past six months. The news was so overwhelmingly sad for me. I wanted to help her feel better, but that is not something I could do. What I can do is pray for her, and I will!
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are they that mourn…
Day 20- Be Kind in Words and Actions
This is a great rule to live by and then you do not ever have to go back and apologize for something you said or did. This will be very good for me to focus on since my mouth opens a lot before I actually think about what is coming out. I am very good at apologizing, but it would be so much better if those things were never said. I will pray for this! And pray for strength to think before I speak.
Matthew 7:12
All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.
Day 21- Pray For Help to Do Hard Things
A day does not go by that I am not asking for help for something. Once in a while those hard things creep in and need more than just a moment in prayer, sometimes days or even longer. Those hard things that we need help with merit being on your prayer sheet to be addressed every time you pray. When I am too close to the situation, a good reminder helps me to remember and continue to ask for the help I am desiring.
Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the Merciful…
Day 22- What Do You Actually Treasure?
What is on your prayer sheet? Are you praying for what you truly treasure? Say a heartfelt prayer about what you truly treasure.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Day 23- Clothing Yourself with Prayer
This day is to remind you to start your day with prayer, just as you get dressed to start your day. And if getting dressed is the reminder you need to pray, let it be that reminder.
Matthew 25:36
I was naked and ye clothed me.
Here are your suggestions for this month. I encourage you to have fun changing up your prayers. Be open to the blessings you will receive.
Much Love and Gratitude! Janalee
