You don’t need a reason to be grateful

I don’t know about you, but I love date nights with my husband.
They’re fun. They’re filled with laughter. And they get us out of the house.
A few weeks ago, we decided to go see a movie. And as we were in line to get some popcorn, I hear my husband ask for a pretzel too.
With our arms full of tasty snacks, we find our seats, and get comfortable. When all of a sudden, my husband hands me the pretzel.
Me: “But I thought you wanted it?”
Him: “I got it for you, to show my gratitude.”
Me: “For what?”
Him: “I have no idea!”
I thought it was a little odd…..but after thinking about the whole thing, I came to the conclusion that it was a wonderful gesture.
He wanted to express his gratitude for me…..without a specific reason!
It made me think…
Do we need to have a reason to express our gratitude?
Do we have to have a reason to show someone that we appreciate them?
Do we have to have a reason to show someone that we care about them?
No, and going forward I will be more aware of opportunities to be grateful for no reason
Gratitude is one of the main foundations for all well-being. Research has shown that expressing gratitude towards one another can help you live a longer, happier and healthier life!
