Power Up Your Prayers – Part 5
Hello my dear friend,
We will jump right in!
Day 24- “Exciting” Opportunities that Arise when We Specifically Pray
I am not going to tell you what I was praying for, but my new office space is a result of that specific prayer. It was not at all what I was specifically praying for, but it was an answer I had never considered. It has opened many doors and opportunities that would not have happened if I had stayed in my comfortable smaller office space. Be open to whatever that answer to your prayer might be.
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Day 25- Join Your Prayer Power with a Prayer Team
Create a prayer team that if you need extra prayers or support you can call or text them, and you offer the same opportunity for anyone in your group. Prayers by themselves are very powerful, but if there is more than one person praying for the same person or situation, those prayers are exponential! Try it and see what happens. It is fun, amazing and exciting when you do this and experience the results from it.
James 5:16 Pray for one another.
Day 26- Praise more than Plea
Have you ever said a prayer only expressing gratitude? Especially when you really want to ask for something? That can be challenging but also can open new ways to ask for what you want using gratitude. You can’t go wrong being grateful!
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad.
Day 27- Spiritual Hunger
When we are physically hungry, we look for food and we eat it. What do you do when you are spiritually hungry? I start with prayer and add other things that I am inspired to do after I pray. Whatever it may be, just ask!
Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat.
Day 28- Jesus Prayed
Jesus is the perfect example for us to follow and He used prayer often throughout His life.
Jesus Prayed FOR others. (Matthew 19:13)
Jesus prayed WITH others. (Luke 9:28)
Jesus prayed ALONE. (Luke 5:16)
Jesus prayed to give THANKS. (John 6:11)
Jesus prayed BEFORE MAKING BIG DECISIONS. (LUKE 6:12-13)
Jesus prayed knowing His prayers may not be answered as He asked. (Matthew 26:39)
He prayed so many times and in so many other ways. Just pray, you can’t go wrong.
John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done….
Day 29- Feeling Trapped?
Sometimes we feel trapped in our lives, in a relationship, a situation, or a place in time. I remember I felt like I was stuck in a time warp after my first husband died. That was almost 24 years ago, and I did get through it. But I was not alone getting through it. Prayer was a huge part of getting through that first year. If you are feeling stuck in any situation in your life, pray!
Matthew 25:36 I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Day 30- The Special Power of a Mother’s Prayer
The author shared a story about her son being kidnapped and how her prayer of protection helped him be returned safely back to her. I know my “mother’s intuition” helped me many times to be in tune to my children’s needs and desires, knowing better what to pray for to help them. Let us remember the Power we have as parents (moms) to call upon the Powers of Heaven to protect and guide our children. Pray for your children, grandchildren every day. Even if your kids don’t listen to you, God hears your prayers and HE listens.
Mark 10:14 Suffer the little children to come unto me.
Day 31- Prayer is a Key Part of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is for us, not for the person that hurt us. I have to remember this and sometimes it is very difficult for me. I have two things that I use often to help me forgive those that I am having a difficult time forgiving. The first technique is called Ho’oponopono. I am not going to explain it, you can look it up, but it has worked for me for years. And I also do a forgiveness technique that helps when the first one does not. It requires physical time but is so very effective. I am happy to share with those that are interested. Prayer is the tool that gives me the change of heart while doing either one of these techniques.
Is there someone that you need to forgive? Pray for help to forgive them.
Matthew 6:14 Forgive men their trespasses.
Day 32- Always Have a Prayer in Your Heart
I usually do. I pray in the mornings, before I begin work, during the day, a lot in the moment, during conversations, before bed, over my food. You get the picture. My day is full of prayer. And I am grateful it can be that way.
Try praying about things as they come up. You don’t need to kneel; you don’t need to say anything long. Sometimes it is just ” help me” or “help them”. Give it a try and enjoy the power of always having a prayer in your heart.
3 Nephi 18:15 Ye must watch and pray always.
We will finish this book review in March. I’m excited to share something new in April.
Much love and gratitude- Janalee
